Croatian holiday

I have just read an article at austriantimes.at, with the headline "Austrians make Croatian holiday top three".

It talks about the Croatian holiday, which Austrians preferred this year.

As you can see on the chart, Croatian and Italy are favourite countries for the holidays.

You can also notice an increase from the year 2005.

Basically what it says is that between the months January and July, Austrians had comprised nine per cent of overnight stays by foreigners.

It is also mentioned that only Germans with 19.8 per cent and Slovenes with 13.7 per cent had a larger share than Austrians.

In the text it is said that most of the Austrians travel by car to Croatian.

In comparison with the hotels in Austrian capital Vienna are the hotels in Croatian very cheap.

For example a double room in Vienna cost 125 Euros a night, this month. Last month it cost 113 Euros. Imagine, 12 Euros more than the last month.

I took this article because I think it is quite interestin g to see which countries Austrian like and why they like them.

The development of advertising

I have just read an article about the development of advertising.

It is about the Industrial Revolution, which started in the 19th century.
Factorys started to promote new products, but the other wholesalers made the same.

Basically what it says is that in the nineteenth century the production had risen and there had been a corresponding growth in retail outlets.

It is also mentioned that after the growth the prices and profits fell, because the manufactured goods, which hadn't sold, piled up.

In the end of the nineteenth century the small firms went together with other small ones and so they made few big ones.
With this plan they switched off a lot of business competitions.

From about the 1850s the companys find out more and more aggressive selling methods to take the customers away from their rivals and switched them off.

In the text there is Lord Leverhulme mentioned.
He was one of the first industrialists. Lord Leverhulme realised that on the one hand advertising should be funny but on the other hand people should be serious about it.

Television spot

I took the spot of DUPLO, but it isn't my favourite one, but the only one i rememered.

The spot is about two guys who are in love with a girl, who is called Desiree.

The two guys make different competitions to win her heart.

She doesn't know which guy she preferes.

In the end she takes the guy who is the most romantic one, because he ate the praline very slowly and not as greedy as the other one.

Trip to Italy

We went form 17th to the 21st May.
All in all it was a nice trip.
We started our trip on Monday morning. In Italy we made a stop in Udine.
About 6 o'clock, we arrived in our accommodation.
The mobile-homes, where we stayed were so ugly and too small.

On Tuesday we went to Venice, the whole day. We had to do exercises in groups of four or five people. I went with Lukas, Julia, Madeleine and Katharina. There were so many people and it was quit hot this day.
The food and drinks are very expensive on the streets of the
Markusplatz.

On Wednesday we did archery in two groups and in the afternoon we made a bicycle tour and we also stopped to make a picknick.

On Thursday we visited a fishing village and after that we played beach volleyball.
We went to the beach and we swimmed in the sea.

On Friday, we went back home.
It was very boring to drive six hours with the bus.

Presentation - Let's go green

I have just heard a topic on environment and pollution.
In my opinion, the presentation of Paramento was quiet good and I think that they invested a lot of time on their presentation.
For example their wear T-Shirts with the name of their topic "Let's go green".

They also made nice activities in class.
The three girls sometimes proposed questions on us and this made the presentation more interesting, because you had to take attention on what they are saying.

They talked about the climate change. It is affected to all of us.
There are two causes, why this could happen.

One are the natural causes, for example a volcanic eruption and the otherone are human causes.
The Paramento-people gave some advices how people can prevent this.

They also mentioned that their are three points about environmental pollution and health.
The air pollution, the water pollution and last but not least the land pollution.

Paramento showed us two websites:
  • WWF
  • Greenpeace
On this websites you can get a lot of informations on recycling and composting for example.

All in all the presentation was very informative for me and I really liked it.

Strache claims public security "about to collapse"

I have just read an article in austriantimes.at and it talks about the Freedom-Party leader Heinz-Christian Strache.

Basically what it says is that Strache wanted 1500 more policeman on the streets of Vienna.

He also talked about a 24-hour crime hotline in Vienna.

The reason for that is that break-ins had increased by 70 per cent last year in Vienna.

He also mentioned that there had been 19 000 more crimes in 2009 and
160 000 break-ins last year.

He added that foreigners had been responsible for most of the burglaries.

All together this would cost 250 million euros, but Strache's comment on this is that he also think that this is a lot of money, but its expenditure will make Vienna residents feel safer.

I took this article because I think safety affect all of us.
